The following stories have been hand-selected by the Assignment Desk at News4:

DRUNK TEACHER?
wtop.com: "  A veteran fourth-grade teacher in Loudoun County is under arrest, for allegedly being drunk at school.  Laura Ann Collins, 43, of Leesburg is charged with being drunk in public.  The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office says a member of the School Resource Officer Unit responded to Creighton's Corner Elementary School Wednesday afternoon, after a school employee reported a teacher was believed to be under the influence of alcohol."

WINNER FEEDS HOMELESS

Gazette: " When Karen Garner of Germantown found out about California Tortilla's Cinco de Mayo catering giveaway, she immediately knew what she would do. Garner submitted a contest entry, writing that if she won, she would donate the food to Stepping Stones Homeless Shelter in Rockville. "If there is something I can do to make another person's life brighter, if only for a day, then I would like to do so," Garner wrote. California Tortilla recognized the selflessness of her request and named her one of 20 winners to receive the catered meals, each of which feeds about 100 people."

BURGLAR ROBS HOMES DURING PARADE
The Capital: " A burglar hit three adjacent city homes during Annapolis’ Memorial Day Parade Monday morning, police said. The culprit targeted three homes on German Street, stealing items from two and attempting to enter the third by cutting a window screen. Police concluded the same person hit all three because items from one of the homes were found at the others."
