GAS TAX HIKE?
SoMdNews.com: " Although legislation to increase the gasoline tax in Maryland died in the past session of the General Assembly, the possibility of a tax hike in the autumn remains. Still, even the chief proponent said it would be a tough sell, given the price at the pump these days.  The impetus for continued talk of a gas tax increase is lawmakers’ concern about where to get the money for new transportation projects and long-standing infrastructure needs."

ICE CREAM TRUCK RUNS OVER CYCLIST
Fairfax Times: "A Maryland man is facing charges after allegedly running over a Fairfax County cyclist with his ice cream truck on Bike to Work Day, May 18. According to police and witnesses, Brendan Markham, 24, of Burke was riding his bicycle home from his Tysons Corner office west on Route 236 around 7 p.m.. He was traveling on the sidewalk when an ice cream truck driven by Impha Gassama, 52, of New Carrollton, Md., struck and dragged him a short distance near the Fairfax Square Apartment complex in Fairfax City."

THREE KINGS WORK IN BETHESDA
Gazette: "Three kings from Cameroon are presently living and working in the Washington, D.C. area, but that doesn't mean they are not still connected to their subjects in West Africa.
