TEENS NEED TO BE RE-TESTED
Fredericksburg.com: "Twenty-six sophomores at Colonial Beach High School are taking driver education for a second time because the instructor in the first class was not certified to teach the course.  One 16-year-old student who had already received her provisional driving permit has been grounded until she completes the new online class, said Superintendent Donna Power. "We are sorry for the mistake and inconvenience this has caused her and the other students involved," said Principal Clint Runyon. "We know that piece of paper is extremely important to them."

NEW PARK FOR POOCHES
Fairfax Times: " Dog owners in the Fairfax-Burke area are hoping to create a place in their community to let pets run off-leash.A group of dog owners, unofficially known as "Braddock Dogs," has been working with the Fairfax County Park Authority for about two years to identify a site for an off-leash dog area in Braddock District. A narrow 6.2-acre strip of land off of Guinea Road, known as Monticello Park, now seems to be a likely site for the county's ninth dog park."

ZBURGER FREE BURGERS TO FEDERAL WORKERS 
wtop.com: "Since a federal government shutdown could mean missed paychecks for federal employees, some local businesses are offering food and drink specials to furloughed workers. If the government does shutdown at midnight Friday, local burger chain, Z Burger, is offering federal employees free burgers starting Monday. The chain tweeted the offer shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday."
