Grandma Robbed by Phony Grandson

A Stafford County woman was recently bilked out of $2,700 by someone pretending to be her grandson, police said. Sheriff's spokesman Bill Kennedy said the woman got a call Thursday from a man who called her "Grandma." When she asked who he was, he gave the name of her grandson. The man, who the victim said sounded like her grandson, told her that he'd been in an auto accident in Canada and needed money to bond out of jail. He said he tried to reach his father but was unable to do so. (Fredericksburg.com)

Judge Allegedly Stalked by Ex

Days after D.C. Superior Court Magistrate Judge Janet Albert broke up with her girlfriend, the judge found her former companion unconscious in her attic, above her bedroom, with some food and an ice bucket fashioned into a makeshift toilet, authorities say. Investigators said Taylar Nuevelle had climbed into the attic through a door in Albert's bedroom closet and been there for nearly 24 hours, listening to Albert's telephone pleas to friends for help.
