A Prince Frederick, Md., hospital is the safest hospital in the D.C. area, according to ConsumerReports.org.
Calvert Memorial Hospital topped the list with a safety score of 68 out of 100. Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington came in second, with Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge following.
Howard University Hospital, George Washington University Hospital, and Providence Hospital landed at the bottom of the list.
The rankings are determined by communications, number of infections, re-admissions, unnecessary CT scans and the mortality rate.
