Laurel Man Wanted in Bank Robbery

Police say man robbed bank early Saturday morning

Police in Frederick County are looking for a 55-year-old man who allegedly robbed a bank in Monrovia Saturday morning.

Authorities say 55-year-old Frederick Malcolm entered the Sun Trust bank branch at around 11:00 a.m. and demanded money before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Malcolm, whose last known address was in Laurel, is described as a white man standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds. At the time of the robbery, Malcolm was wearing a blue flannel shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and dark gloves.

Malcolm is wanted on an outstanding warrant for three counts of robbery, theft over $1,000 and theft under $1,000. Police say that Malcolm may be driving a brown 2000 Mercury Marquis with a Maryland license plate reading DEVONA. The car has a tan vinyl top and a dent in the right side of the trunk.
