Wednesday is the absolute last day to sign up for health insurance in the District.
Those still without coverage must enroll by the end of the day to avoid a possible tax penalty. The initial deadline was March 31, but the District granted two extensions to accommodate people who had started the application process but didn't finish.
You can sign up online at D.C. Health Link. If you need help, D.C. Health Link has counselors to help you sign up at the Dorothy I. Height-Benning Library in Northeast from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
The website also has help numbers to call.
Thw sign-up deadline does not apply to certain special circumstances, including people eligible for Medicare or people who have recently lost health coverage.
Officials with the city's health exchange have estimated that thousands of residents still don't have health coverage.
