Knife Concealed in Comb Confiscated at BWI

Woman escorting daughter to gate cited

Police confiscated a knife disguised in a comb at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Monday morning, according to the TSA.

TSA discovered the knife at a checkpoint buried in a three-ring binder among papers and folders. A bright green comb came in two pieces. Its handle also served as the handle of the knife. The 4-inch blade was concealed in the back end of the comb.

TSA contacted Maryland Transportation Authority Police, who took the knife and cited a woman on a state charge.

The woman had been escorting her daughter, a minor, to the gate to catch a flight. She was allowed to continue taking the girl to the gate.
