Man Confesses to Spray-Painting ‘Kill Cops' at Shopping Center

Anne Arundel County Police are looking for the person who spray-painted a message threatening police officers on the walls of an area shopping center.

Officers were called to the Ritchie Highway Shopping Center in Brooklyn, Maryland, to investigate a vandalism report Tuesday morning. When they arrived, they found the message "Killing AAC Cops Coming Soon" spray-painted on three walls of the shopping center. The officers also found the words "Kill Cops" on a nearby sign.

Using surveillance footage, investigators were able to identify 26-year-old Zachary Adam Shanor as their suspect. While investigating Shanor, officers found more graffiti spray-painted near his home.

Shanor, who was already in police custody for an unrelated charge, confessed to the vandalism.

Shanor has been charged with six counts of malicious destruction of property. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $30,000 bond
