Jogger Sexually Assaulted on Capital Crescent Trail

U.S. Park Police are looking for the man who sexually assaulted a jogger on the Capital Crescent Trail.

The victim was jogging north of Three Sisters near Water Street NW about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when she was approached from behind and placed in a choke hold, authorities said. The victim lost consciousness and awoke to find her pants down and a man fondling her.

The man fled on foot toward Fletcher’s Boat House when the victim screamed.

Police described the man as black with medium complexion. He stands 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 and 180-200 pounds with a muscular build. He wears his hair in 3-4 inch dreadlocks and had a light, scruffy beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt -- possibly a tank top or sleeveless shirt -- and long, black, jersey-type shorts.
