Md. Inmate Captured After Escape

Maryland corrections officials say an inmate that escaped from a minimum security prison in Anne Arundel County by scaling a fence has been captured.

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services says Larence Godfrey covered the razor wire atop the fence with blankets just before 5 a.m. Monday to escape from Dorsey Run Correctional Facility.

The blankets were spotted around 6:15 a.m. and officials say Godfrey was identified as missing about an hour and half later. He was last seen on Interstate 295 north near Route 100 between 7:20 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. Officials say Godfrey was sentenced to 20 years for attempted murder in Prince George's County in 2002 and was expected to be released in 2016.

Godfrey was located outside an Oxon Hill home just after 6 p.m. Monday.
