Montgomery County fire officials say that illegally discharged fireworks sparked an intense blaze at a detached garage in Gaithersburg Saturday night.

Investigators say that the fire broke out at 733 Kent Oaks Mews at approximately 10:30 p.m. and caused about $75,000 in damage. In all, 55 firefighters were required to extinguish the fire, which burned for roughly 45 minutes.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze. An investigation is ongoing. It is not clear if charges will be filed at this time.
