The IRS wants to mail some early Christmas presents in the form of tax refund checks. They'd like to re-issue the checks because the first ones didn't make it to local taxpayers the first time around.
The agency says more than $616,000 in refunds were marked "return to sender" because the addresses were incorrect.
In all, 345 District taxpayers are due refund checks that average more than $1,700 each. To find out if you've got an early Christmas present waiting for you from the IRS, check out their 'Where's My Refund' tool.
