Hundreds Ready for JFK 50 Race

Hundreds of runners are gathering for the JFK 50 Mile ultramarathon in western Maryland.

The event Saturday begins in Boonsboro and takes runners on a course that includes parts of the Appalachian Trail and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park.

The annual race began in 1963. It honors President John F. Kennedy's commitment to improve America's physical fitness.
