New task forces aim to stop the upward trend of domestic violence cases across the state.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are investigating the discovery of a woman's body that was found Saturday in the Patuxent River State Park in upper Montgomery County, md., outside of Damascus.

A hunter discovered the partially decomposed body around 12:32 p.m. in a shallow grave in a wooded area near the end of Brown Church Road.

The woman's age and race remain unknown because of the decomposition. Investigators believe the body may have been placed there in the fall of 2009.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore in an effort to determine the cause and manner of death.

Anyone who believes that they may have information about this death should call homicide detectives at 240-773-5070. Callers may remain anonymous.
