Fairfax County police have identified the human bones found on an area trail earlier this year.
A Herndon resident found the remains of 50-year-old Joseph John Swain next to a nature path in Difficult Run Stream Valley Park on February 8. Police say Swain had no fixed address.
The Office of the Medical Examiner was not able to determine Swain's cause of death, but detectives say they have no evidence of criminal activity or suspicious trauma.
