The Montgomery County Toys for Tots had such a successful fundraising year, it was left with about 20,000 toys still to give away Monday.
After collecting about 36,000 toys last year, the group brought in 98,000 this year.
The surplus was given away Monday.
Families who originally could not get a referral for the holiday giving project collected the extra toys.
