House Fire Kills Man in Oxon Hill Blaze

One man was killed after a fire at an Oxon Hill, Maryland, home late Friday night, according to the Prince George’s County Fire Department.

Fire crews were called to the 6700 block of Belfast Place shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday. They said a woman was able to get out of the home, but a man, approximately 80 years old, was found in a hallway with burn injuries.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

Investigators said a smoke alarm went off in the basement, but it did not go off on the first floor of the home, where the man was found. They are still looking for a cause to the fire.
