Guests at a Woodley Park hotel were forced to sleep in the ballrooms after two small fires were erupted during the night.

Pictures posted on Twitter show several people scattered around the floor of what appears to be lobby areas of the Washington Marriott Wardman Park hotel on Woodley Road, NW. The pictures are also tagged with #APSA2014 for the American Political Science Association’s annual meeting in D.C.

Marriott spokesman Mark Indre said the hotel was alerted to a couple of small fires primarily in the stairwells. The hotel is working to make guests as comfortable as possible.

D.C. Fire spokesman Tim Wilson said all fires are currently out and there were no injuries. An investigation has begun to determine the cause of the fires.
