Homicide in Columbia Heights

A man was shot and killed in Columbia Heights overnight.

At about 1:49 a.m. early on Saturday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting at 14th and Clifton Streets NW. There they found 25-year-old Rodney Bean, a Northwest resident, suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Metropolitan Police Department detectives have confirmed that the shooting was a homicide. Bean was taken to Howard Hospital in critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries.
