Holiday Packages Stolen in Howard Co.

Police ask for help identifying suspect

Police in Howard County are warning residents about a possible holiday thief.

A security camera at a home in Columbia recorded a man following a UPS truck and stealing delivered packages from the front door area. It happened along Tamar Drive Nov. 28.

The man could be seen taking the boxes then putting them in a green Subaru station wagon. Police say the tags on that vehicle came up as stolen. They say it's unclear if the same tags are currently on his car.

There have been no other reports of stolen packages but police say it's possible someone didn't notice. They say you should check all of your holiday purchases to see if anything is missing. Police also suggest checking with family members to ensure they've received items you shipped.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance photo above or need to report your own case of stolen packages, you should call Howard County Police at (410) 313-2200.
