Hispanic Heritage Month: A News4 Special Report

advertisement

From bilingual education for the youngest students, to Cuban food and fellowship in a restaurant in Northeastern D.C., to the sounds and sights of traditional Mexican dance, News4 is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a special report.

About 8 percent of Washington, D.C.'s population is Latino, according to the Immigration Policy Center. The purchasing power of Latinos in Washington, D.C. in 2012 totaled $2.6 billion, up 444 percent since 1990. That growth has led to thriving businesses, schools and communities.

Take a moment to explore several different stories of the Hispanic experience in the D.C. region. And if you missed our special report, we will re-run it on Cozi on Sunday at 5 p.m.

We've also posted some of these reports in Spanish; click here to view.
