Herndon Offers Day-Labor Hiring How-To

Herndon is telling people how to hire day laborers.

Herndon has launched a campaign to educate citizens about how to hire day workers.
It's illegal to hire them on private property, town officials said, and people who hire day workers must do an employment check, often with a federal I-9 form.
The town is placing ads in local newspapers to get the point across.
The next NBC Washington PNC Bank Community Shred is scheduled for June 16, 2012.
