Herman Cain Tours Virginia While Harassment Charges Linger

Woman wants to break gag order about harassment charge

The Republican presidential candidate under fire for sexual harassment accusations lodged over a decade ago will be in northern Virginia and D.C. on Wednesday.

Former pizza chain entrepreneur Herman Cain will begin his tour through the region with an appearance in Tysons Corner at 8 a.m.  He will address the Northern Virginia Technology Council Wednesday at the Ritz-Carlton there.

Following that appearance, Cain will speak to a doctor's health care group, Docs4PatientCare, in Alexandria.  Then, in the early afternoon, Cain heads to Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress.

Although Cain will likely keep his prepared remarks to politics, he faces increased scrutiny about two alleged sexual harassment complaints lodged against him while he was National Restaurant Association in the mid-90's.

One of the women who accused him of sexual harassment is trying to speak out today.

A lawyer representing the woman wants her former employer to lift the gag agreement that is part of her settlement.

The attorney says his client wants to tell her story and respond to Cain's claims that the complaints were baseless and false.  NBC News reported a second woman reportedly got $35,000 - a year's salary- in severance. At first Cain said a settlement never happened, but now admits there was an agreement.

Cain continues to strongly deny both claims and says the scandal backfired for those trying to put a cloud over his campaign. Cain's campaign says it raised roughly $300,000 online in the day after firestorm erupted.

Tuesday night, Cain had dinner at Bobby Vans near the White House with a handful of senators. One called it a nice conversation, but no endorsements have been offered yet.
