Heavy Rain, Localized Flooding Possible Friday Evening

The D.C. area is expecting heavy rain and localized flooding Friday afternoon, said Storm Team4 Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer.

There have already been some flash flood warnings out to the west, with more to come likely. Remember never to drive through standing water.

A flash flood watch was in effect until 8 p.m. for Fauquier, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Page counties in Virginia.

Thunderstorms are also possible but they probably won't be severe.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect for St. Mary's County, Maryland, until noon Saturday.
