The heaviest rain of the day moved through the D.C. area Wednesday evening, but any band of rain could move through around 11 p.m. or midnight, so keep your umbrella handy.
An inch of rain could fall in some areas before the showers end.
There's a slight risk of damaging winds, although flooding is not expected in the metro area.
Just east of the Blue Ridge and in the Shenandoah Valley, rain totals could be more than two inches. That area should be on the lookout for possible flooding. Small creeks and streams may briefly come out of their banks in that region.
The rain threat will end after midnight. Friday and Halloween will be much cooler, with afternoon highs only near 60 degrees. Sunday's highs will be near 70.
