A student at Mattawoman Middle School was arrested Monday after school officials found a handgun in his locker.
Staff at the school received a tip that the student brought the handgun onto school property and, after searching his locker, found an unloaded handgun in the student’s backpack.
The student had stolen the gun from home, and planned to sell it after school, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
Charles County Sheriffs deputies arrested the student and charged him with carrying a concealed weapon on school property.
