D.C. police are investigating whether the shooting death of a 57-year-old man in Northeast Wednesday was a suicide.
The man was found unconscious and unresponsive, suffering gunshot wounds inside a home in the 5600 block of Chillum Street NE before 4 p.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
"It could have been my mother or father sitting on their porch. It's just not right," a neighbor told News4.
The man lived in the area near the large Fort Totten development for several years, neighbors said.
There are signs the shooting may have been a suicide, police said, but they are waiting for autopsy results.
