Gunman Sexually Assaults Woman in Northwest

Woman ambushed late Tuesday

A gunman forced a woman into an alley in northwest D.C. and sexually assaulted her Tuesday night.

The victim was walking along the sidewalk in the 400 block of Q Street NW about 11:30 p.m. when she was approached from behind by a man with a handgun.

The attacker put a gun to the victim’s head and told her, “I will shoot you if you don’t do what I tell you to,” according to the police report.

He then sexually assaulted her and stole her backpack, wallet and keys before fleeing on foot.

Police described him as a black man 24-25 years old with medium build and wearing a black leather jacket, a checkered scarf, black hat and dark pants.

“May have been seen afterward carrying a woman’s purse,” Cmdr. George Kucik said.

Anyone with information about the case should call police at 202-727-9099 or 888-919-2746 or text the tip anonymously by messaging 50411.
