“Guitar Hero” Suspected of Arson

Suspect charged with setting Fauquier church on fire

A Virginia man once known for whacking an intruder with a guitar is now accused of arson.

Sean Edward Macsorley, 29, of Manassas, Va., was arrested Monday. He’s charged with setting a fire July 25 that destroyed Saint Patrick Orthodox Church on Marsh Road in Fauquier County, authorities said. He's being held without bond.

Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. James Hartman told InsideNova.com that Macsorley allegedly entered the construction site of the church and set the building on fire. The church was near completion when it burned to the ground.

Macsorley also made headlines last October when he fended off a burglar at his Manassas home by hitting him over the head with a guitar, police said.
