WASHINGTON -- The Washington Area Bicyclist Association will offer a bicycle valet service on Inauguration Day. Free valet stations will be set up on 16th Street in Northwest between I and K streets and on the south side of the Jefferson Memorial.

Volunteers will watch the bicycles while the riders enjoyed the day's events, the group said. Riders won't need a lock and will receive a claim check to reclaim the bike.

The plan won financial support from the national cycling advocacy group America Bikes. Minneapolis company Dero Bike Racks plans to lend its bike racks. D.C. transportation officials also supported the idea.
