Gov.-Elect Hogan to Light 30-Foot Menorah in Baltimore

Gov.-elect Larry Hogan is helping Maryland's Jewish community celebrate Hanukkah by lighting a 30-foot menorah in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

The Republican leader joins other dignitaries at the event Tuesday night in McKeldin Square.

The event also includes a parade.

Hanukkah is an eight-day festival that includes gift-giving, special foods and the lighting of a special candelabra, or menorah.

The ceremony was organized by the area's Chabad Lubavitch community.

Hogan is of the Roman Catholic faith. He takes office Jan. 21.
