Georgetown University is about to get a little cuter next week.

“The Hoya,” the student newspaper, reports the school is getting a new bulldog mascot. The presiding mascot, Jack the Bulldog, is 10 years old.

A school official determined the current heir apparently, named J.J., was not acclimating to campus life.

The new puppy comes from the same mother and will be at his first public event at the men’s soccer game next Wednesday against DePaul. If he does okay in front of the large crowd, he’ll officially become the new mascot.
