Georgetown Condo Project Rejected

Project Planned Near 'Exorcist' Steps

It's back to the drawing board for the people who want to put a new condo building in Georgetown.

The proposed 27-unit building would have gone at M Street and White Hurst Freeway where the Exxon Mobil station and mini-mart currently are located. Some neighbors were worried it would partially block their views of the Potomac and that the design is just too modern.

The design was recently rejected by the Advisory Neighborhood Commission and Old Georgetown Board.

Both said the design of the building didn't fit the look for Georgetown. The condo project would have taken shape a short distance away from the iconic “Exorcist” steps.
