Northbound lanes of Glebe Road were closed Friday due to a gas main break in Arlington.

The road was shut down between Route 50 and North Pershing Drive for most of the day Friday.

Police said a major gas line was cut by a construction crew working near an apartment building on Piedmont Street.  The building was evacuated while gas crews worked to turn off the gas.

Washington Gas is at the scene working to fix the problem.
