You might want to avoid the George Washington Parkway this morning near Alexandria. A three-mile stretch of the road is shut down right now as crews clean-up downed trees from the damaging storm two weeks ago.
Both north and southbound lanes of the parkway between Belle View Boulevard and Collingwood Road are closed.
The road shut down at 7:00 a.m. and is scheduled to reopen around 4:00 p.m.
