GMU Professor Pepper Sprayed, Suspect in Custody

A George Mason University law professor was pepper sprayed in class Wednesday.

The incident occurred at the school's Arlington campus near Virginia Square around 3 p.m. Officials say a man entered the classroom, attempted to place the professor under a citizen's arrest, then pepper sprayed him. Twelve students were in the classroom at the time. 

The suspect fled, but was arrested shortly after by Arlington County Police. Charges are pending. 

No one was seriously injured in the scuffle.
