Police are searching for culprits and a motive in the shooting death of 18-year-old Marckel Ross, who was gunned down on his way to school Tuesday morning just minutes after leaving his home in Capitol Heights, Md.

Family and friends will hold a funeral Thursday morning for a Prince George's County teen killed while walking to school.

High school junior Marckel Ross, 18, was shot to death Sept. 11 on his way to Central High School in District Heights. The school's principal spoke highly of Ross, who was in the modeling club, on the track team and in ROTC.

Police still don't have any information about a suspect, and are asking the public for help in solving this crime.

Ross's family will have a viewing at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jericho City of Praise Church in Landover, followed by a funeral service.
