Frozen Spinach Products Recalled Due to Listeria Concerns

Two popular grocery brands are recalling products that contain frozen spinach because they may be contaminated with listeria, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

The first recall affects Amy’s Kitchen frozen meals, including vegetable lasagna, spinach pizza, brown rice and vegetables bowl, and stuffed pasta shells. The products were sold nationwide at grocery stores such as Wegmans and Giant Food.

The second recall impacts Wegmans frozen spinach sold in Maryland and Virginia stores between Jan. 27 and March 21.

News4 reached out to Twin City Foods, which supplied the recalled spinach to Wegmans. It said it does not supply spinach to Amy's, so the recalls are not related. It is also not prepared to issue a statement on the recalls, since the problem is still under investigation.
