Free Dental Care Available Friday and Sunday in Prince George's County

A free dental clinic in College Park, Maryland, will provide care for adults who cannot afford to visit the dentist.

The Mission of Mercy and Health Equity Festival will offer free adult dental care and other health services Friday, Sept. 8 and Sunday, Sept. 10 at the XFINITY Center.

Services will be available from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Organizers urge any adult with tooth, gum or jaw problems who cannot afford a dentist to stop by for a consultation. Dental services include cleanings, x-rays, fillings and tooth extractions.

Other health tests, including blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, HIV and vision screenings will be available. You can also get your annual flu shot at the event, or have a free consultation with an attorney, nutritionist or counselor.

Only adults over the age of 18 are invited to get care.

One in every five Americans needs dental care but does not consult a dentist, the organizers said.

The event is sponsored by the University of Maryland School of Public Health and Catholic Charities of Washington.
