Four Lines Affected by Weekend Work on Metro

Riders can expect longer trips over the weekend

Weekend work is going to affect the Orange, Red, Yellow and Green lines ths weekend as rebuilding efforts continue within Metro.

Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, shuttles will replace trains between East Falls Church and West Falls Church on the Orange Line -- leading to delays of between 20 and 30 minutes.

On the Red Line, there will be single-tracking between Van Ness and Friendship Heights, and between New York Avenue and Rhode Island Ave, for an extra 10-15 minutes of travel time.

Green Line riders will see single tracking between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue, and between L'Enfant Plaza and Mt. Vernon Square.

And finally, Yellow Line trains will operate on the Blue Line between Huntington and Stadium-Armory throughout the weekend, as work continues to improve cell phone coverage on the downtown portion of the line.
