One Dead, Three Injured in Separate Shootings in DC

Four people were shot early Saturday morning in separate incidents around Washington.

Shortly before 2 a.m., police said Anthony Sanchez, 18, was shot in the chest and dropped off at the Washington Hospital Center. He died shortly after from his wounds.

Two other shootings occurred within minutes of each other in southeast D.C. around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said an adult male was shot in the head at 330 Parkland Place. Minutes later, police responded to a second incident in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue.

Officers found a second adult male with a gunshot wound to the face.

Police said the man shot in the head is in grave condition and the man shot in the face is in critical condition.

Originally, police said both men had died, but later updated News 4 with their current conditions.

A fourth person was injured during a shooting in the 1600 block of Montello Avenue in northeast Washington around 3 a.m. Police said the man was shot in the leg and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
