Former Virginia Pastor Accused of '90s Sex Assaults

Fairfax County police arrested a Kentucky man over allegations that he sexually assaulted two boys while serving as a pastor in northern Virginia.

Tommy Shelton, 64, of Marion, Ky., turned himself in to authorities Tuesday, police said. He faces two counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of indecent liberties with a minor and sodomy charges.

Shelton was the pastor of Community Church of God in Dunn Loring from 1995 to 2000. In March 2008, a 27-year-old man reported that he had been molested by Shelton when he was 12 to 14 years old, police said. Later that year, a 22-year-old man contacted police, also saying that he had been molested by Shelton when he was 8 to 9 years old.

Detectives secured warrants for Shelton last month.
