Fla. Man Charged in Md. Crash That Killed 2

Maryland State Police said they've charged a Florida man in a Frederick County crash that killed two people.

Watson Pierre, of Sunrise, Fla., was taken into custody Monday night after being released from the hospital, police said.

The crash occurred Monday afternoon when a tractor-trailer loaded with oranges and heading north on Route 75 turned a sharp curve and overturned onto a southbound pickup truck. Two men inside the truck, 46-year-old Hector Henriquez of Gaithersburg and 54-year-old Jose R. Diaz of Derwood, died. Three others, including Pierre, were injured.

Pierre was the driver of the tractor-trailer, police said. He's facing charges of criminally negligent homicide and failure to control speed to avoid a collision.

No phone listing could immediately be found, and it wasn't clear if Pierre had a lawyer.
