Five D.C.-area restaurants made the Daily Meal’s “101 Best Restaurants in America for 2013” list.
Four of Chef Jose Andres’ restaurants made the cut, including Minibar and Jaleo of Penn Quarter. Minibar came in 95th place, while Jaleo came in 83rd.
The Obamas recently had their Valentine’s Day dinner at Minibar.
Indian restaurant Rasika, also located in Penn Quarter, was ranked 100 on the list. Komi, the Dupont Circle Mediterranean restaurant, came in at 65.
Number 37 on the list was the Inn at Little Washington, in Rappahannock County, Va.
In all, 27 New York restaurants made the list. Chicago and Los Angeles both had seven. The French Laundry of Yountville, California was named the top fine dining restaurant in the country.
The restaurants that made this year’s list were chosen by 174 panelists, according to the Daily Meal’s website.
