Firework Blows Through Front Window of D.C. Home

A homeowner is northeast Washington is outraged after a firework blasted through his front window on July 4, causing hundreds of dollars in damage.

Ronald King said he came home and discovered the damage. Neighbors said people were lighting fireworks in the neighborhood that shoot into the air.

King said he’s lucky he wasn’t home or he could have been hit by the device. It did blow an 18th century oil painting out of its frame, but fortunately, the canvas was not destroyed.

While some fireworks are legal in D.C., King plans to ask the government to ban all fireworks in the city. He said he wants to make sure something like what happened to him can’t happen to anyone else.
