Firefighters Responding to Brush Fire Find Woman's Body in Burned Car

Firefighters responding to a brush fire Wednesday morning found a body in a burned car.

The Honda sedan was across the street from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School in Germantown, Maryland, on a dirt road leading from Wisteria Drive to railroad tracks when firefighters found it about 4:30 a.m. They called police.

“Fire rescue is on the scene,” a police dispatcher said. “They were out there for a brush fire that was going on in the woods. There were sounds of explosions, and again, but now it’s a vehicle fire and they are requesting us to go out there.”

Sources told News4 it was a woman’s body in the back seat.

Homicide detectives and fire investigators are investigating.

The body was taken to the medical examiner’s office to determine cause of death.
