ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL - JANUARY 31: A firetruck departs its firehouse enroute to a call January 31, 2005 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. According to an analysis by The Boston Globe, firefighters are showing an alarming drop in response times to calls and barely over a third of calls nationwide are meeting national standards for response time. A fire in Glover Park on Saturday evening caused traffic to snarl along Wisconsin Ave. NW.

The fire started in the apartment building at 3725 Macomb St. NW. An oven fire caused minor smoke damage to the cabinets and kitchen in one residence, but D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel were able to contain the fire.

Firefighters on the scene reported no trouble with water pressure in fighting the fire.

None of the nearby restaurants, including 2Amys and Cactus Cactina, were affected -- though parking in the area was restricted as police diverted traffic off Wisconsin Ave.
