Three families lost their homes in a fire Friday.

The blaze broke out just before 2 p.m. in a townhouse in the 6300 block of Hil Mar Circle East in Forestville, Md.

Prince George’s County fire investigators said it appears the fire started in a rear wall of the home and slithered up to the roof. Before long, flames spread to the homes on either side.

The fire went to two alarms before it was finally put out.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced families.

No one was hurt and there’s no word yet on a cause of the blaze.

Damages could top $200,000.
