Fight Leads to Stabbing Death

One person died and four others were recovering in the hospital Friday morning after a fight led to a stabbing in Hyattsville, Md.

The fight broke out at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at University Town Center on the 6500 block of America Boulevard.

Prince George’s County police said they responded to a report of the fight and found 21-year-old Leonard R. Smith-Matthews suffering from stab wounds to his upper body. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later died from his injuries.

Four others were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not named any suspects.
